Gregory G. Allen is an award-winning author, screenwriter, director and producer. His short film Hiding in Daylight (Writer/Producer) was one of 29 films chosen to screen at the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival for 2019 and won several awards before streaming on RevryTV & Amazon. His short film Mother (Director/Writer/Producer) garnered him a Best Director award at Boston International Film Festival and Los Angeles International Film Festival and a 2015 Remi Award from WorldFest-Houston. Laurie Chock has spent her career producing/directing and editing short and long form films and television segments. She has directed/produced many documentaries including Thread, a well received feature film about female Afghan entrepreneurs and the mid-Atlantic Emmy nominated NJN/PBS film, Ironbound Ties to Portugal. Laurie has made a number of award winning short films combining live action with animation working with her animation partner, Jazzmen Lee-Johnson.
Jeff Turick has been visually telling award-winning stories for over twenty years. He's had an extensive career as a cinematographer which has taken him around the world working on features, commercials, music videos and more. As a director/DoP, his debut film Cut Up won the 1994 LA Filmmaker Award and his 2002 short Webcam premiered in the Sundance Channel's Buzz Cuts Series. He won the '09 Bronze Commercial Telly Award and the '07 Telly for Corporate Video. His film Allison was a winner for the Chapter 4 Selection in Canon's The Story Beyond the Still contest and premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. He has worked with Gregory G. Jazzmen Lee-Johnson is a visual artist, scholar, composer, and curator. Lee-Johnson traverses the subjects of critical race theory, the Atlantic slave trade, Black feminist theory, museum interpretation, and new media studies in both her curatorial and artistic endeavors. She has curated exhibitions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Artist Proof Studio and the ABSA Art Gallery in Johannesburg, South Africa; RISD Museum; and Brown University Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice. Lee-Johnson received her BFA in Film and Animation at the Rhode Island School of Design and her MA in Public Humanities at Brown University, where she was also a Public History of Slavery Fellow at the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice.
